O.M.G.

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh O.M.G.! Usher has teamed up with Black Eyed Peas's Will.i.am in his new single "O.M.G.". The video reminds me a little of "Yeah" at the beginning, and I'm not sure how I'm feeling about the random hand movements/interpretive dance Usher is doing, but the song is decent. Also, it's so not Usher's style to mention "Honey's got boobies (?!) like wow oh wow"... really Usher, really? I'm not a huge fan of the video itself (what with Usher flying in certain instances), and just when you think we're about to see some of Usher's awesome dance moves, he maybe pulls one or two cool MJ moves and then quits when the girls hit the stage. I still think Usher can do better, but maybe this is just his warmup? I hope so!

"Daisy Dukes, Bikinis on Top"

What a great summer song! Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg (YES, SNOOP DOGG!) came together to make this upbeat "California Girls" song - a great tune for those sunny days and driving with the drop top down ;) It does remind me a little of Jessica Simpson's "Public Affair", but I think is a better song (sorry Jess!). Check out the making of "California Girls" and the behind-the-scenes with Katy Perry and Snoop da loop right HERE.

Jay-Z's "Forever Young"

"So we livin' life like a video..."

Jay-Z - my man! He did it again... H.O.V.! I'm also lovin' his black and white videos. The song adds a great beat to the old hit "Forever Young" by Alphaville with a little bit of Mr. Hudson blended into the mix. Jay-Z is seriously brilliant!

Here's the original Alphaville make:

Eminem's "Recovery"

So last night driving home I turned on the radio to hear Eminem's new song from his Recovery album titled "Not Afraid." You gotta hand it to him... he even makes fun of his Relapse album, so at least he can laugh at himself.

For me though, I feel he for some reason can't get back to his old, hard-core angst stuff with dirty rhymes and rhythms.... I feel his beats are hopping on the typical Akon pop beats and his rhymes aren't as strong as they used to be (especially on his second album).
